My next Series

I am presently working on a series of 10 medium to large-sized oil paintings, adding more as I complete them and I've set a late Summer 2010 deadline for exhibition, hoping to be realistic on this timeline. But the visions flow in my windmill with an urgency to be expressed.

The general theme for these new works involve the presence of human figures in most of them, as well as sceneries set in outer space, under water, above the clouds, and so on, in bursts of colours and shapes. The theme itself proposes the human race as eternal beings evolving in various elements with ease and grace, spreading their love of life, after the horrors they have been through. It is about the individual self, not about human institutions, although some of the latter's references remain.

In this series, I work mostly with glazes over black and white and/or verdaccio underpaintings, using pure colours to bring out the light more effectively than in my previous series.

This is all I can tell you for now, but I hope to present them to you soon.

About the Artist

Living in Montreal where she was born and raised, Diane started drawing and painting at an early age. In her teens, a group visit at a local Museum sealed her fate as the young girl knew from that day on she would be a painter for as long as she could.

The artist has traveled around Canada and the United States, enjoying Art lessons and workshops, as well as Art exhibition visits along the way whenever possible.

Later, Diane graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a Baccalaureate of Fine Arts and started exhibiting her paintings in 2003.

The artist lives and works in her studio located on the top of the Mount-Royal, close to her family.
